Putin expects continuity in relations between Russia, Israel
MOSCOW. Feb 28 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said he hopes continuity in relations between Russia and Israel will be ensured after the end of the electoral period in Israel.
"We hope that, no matter how the domestic political events unfold and what the pre-election situation is, continuity in the development of Russian-Israeli relations will be preserved," Putin told journalists in reply to a question from Interfax on Thursday.
Russian-Israeli bilateral ties "are developing very consistently," Putin said. "The Israeli leadership should be given credit for making a great deal of effort toward that, and Prime Minister [Benjamin] Netanyahu is working on it personally," he said.
