Russia, Uzbekistan to discuss Central Asia security
YEKATERINBURG. March 1 (Interfax) - A Russian military delegation led by Central Military District Commander Alexander Lapin has arrived in Uzbekistan for security talks, the military district's press service said on Friday.
"During the visit, Lapin will meet with First Deputy Defense Minister and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan Pavel Ergashev. The sides will discuss key issues concerning regional security in Central Asia," it said.
The Russian delegation will also visit the Uzbek Armed Forces' Academy, where Lapin will deliver a report about the Russian Armed Forces' combat experience in Syria.
The visit, which will end on March 2, comes as part of the international military cooperation plan.
