Uraltrubprom's pipe output down 37.5% in 2M
YEKATERINBURG. March 7 (Interfax) - Urals Pipe Works (Uraltrubprom, Sverdlovsk region) decreased its production of pipes 37.5% year-on-year to 24,976 tonnes in January-February, the company's marketing department told Interfax.
Production of oil pipes decreased by a third to 20,360 tonnes, while that of shaped pipes decreased 52.3% to 4,616 tonnes.
The company shipped 25,668 tonnes (down a third), including 21,735 tonnes of oil pipes (down 28.6%) and 3,933 tonnes of shaped pipes (56.5%).
In 2018, Uraltrubprom's production of pipes decreased 14.8% to 197,590 tonnes. The company said the decrease was due to the general worsening of the situation in the pipe market. "At the same time, if you look at the sales mix, the casing pipe segment, which is fairly new for the company, grew 10% year-on-year," the marketing department said.
In 2019, the company is planning to increase sales by 10%-15%, primarily through sales of oil and gas pipes.
Uraltrubprom produces electro-welded straight-seam pipes 114-630 mm in diameter, casing pipes 146-323 mm in diameter and shaped pipes 80x80 to 500x500 mm.
