Armenian president not to take part in National Security Council meeting in Karabakh - press service
YEREVAN. March 12 (Interfax) - Armenian President Armen Sarkissian will not take part in a meeting of the Armenian National Security Council in Stepanakert, the capital of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), the presidential press service said in a statement.
"Armenian President Armen Sarkissian was invited to a meeting of the Armenian Security Council in Stepanakert last night. However, the Armenian president will not attend the Security Council meeting for technical reasons," the press service said.
As reported earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will chair a meeting of the Armenian Security Council in Stepanakert on Tuesday for the first time.
Pashinyan is visiting Stepanakert together with his wife and three daughters. His son is serving in the army of the unrecognized republic.
A number of Armenian media outlets reported that the Armenian president had not been invited to the Security Council meeting.
