Italian singer Al Bano put on unofficial database of people threatening Ukraine's national security
KYIV. March 13 (Interfax) - Ukrainian activists have put the prominent Italian pop singer Albano Carrisi (better known as Al Bano) on the Myrotvorets (Peacekeeper) online database as a person posing "a threat to Ukraine's national security."
"Albano Carrisi has been added to the Purgatory section for openly justifying Russia's aggression against Ukraine," the website's administration reported on Wednesday.
The Myrotvorets website launched in 2014 provides personal data of people whom its authors have designated as separatists or Kremlin agents. These data have often been obtained illegally and published without these people's consent.
Two days ago, the Ukrainian Culture Ministry put Al Bano on the list of persons posing a threat to Ukraine's national security based on the Ukrainian Security Service's filings. The list currently includes 147 individuals.
The duo formed of Al Bano and Romina Power was particularly popular in Europe and the Soviet Union in the 1980s-1990s.
