Novak proposes holding next OPEC+ meeting in May

BAKU. March 17 (Interfax) - Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak has proposed discussing further actions important to the global oil market in May, the Azerbaijani Energy Ministry said in a statement.

Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Sahbazov and Novak met on the sidelines of a session of the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee of the OPEC and non-OPEC countries (OPEC+) in Baku on Sunday to discuss measures being taken within OPEC+ to stabilize the oil market, the implementation of the Vienna agreement of December 7, 2018 and energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia, it said.

"Alexander Novak said at the meeting that it would be more reasonable to hold discussions in May to determine further steps to be taken in the upcoming period for the global oil market," it said.
