Former Kazakh prosecutor general Kozhamzharov becomes senator

ASTANA. March 19 (Interfax) - Kairat Kozhamzharov has been appointed as a member of the Senate in the Kazakh parliament, the presidential press service said.

"By decree of the head of state, Kairat Perneshovich Kozhamzharov has been appointed as a deputy in the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan," the press service said.

On Monday, President Nursultan Nazarbayev signed a decree relieving Kozhamzharov of his duties as Prosecutor General "due to his transfer to another job."
