Court extends custody for senator Arashukov through June 30

MOSCOW. March 26 (Interfax) - Moscow's Basmanny District Court has extended, until July, the period of custody for suspended Russian senator Rauf Arashukov, who is indicted for organizing murders and participating in a criminal group, an Interfax correspondent reported.

"The court has upheld the motion of the investigation. [...] The court has ruled to extend custody for Arashukov until June 30, 2019," Judge Artur Karpov said in his ruling.

According to the ruling, the court has also extended, for the same period of time, custody for the senator's cousin, Ruslan Arashukov, CEO at Gazprom Gazoraspredeleniye Astrakhan JSC and Gazprom mezhregiongaz Astrakhan, and for Alan Kyatov, director of Gazprom Stavropol's Yessentuki branch.
