Ukrainian nationalists smash Soviet commander Vatutin's bust in Chernihiv region
KYIV. March 27 (Interfax) - Representatives of the Chernihiv cell of the all-Ukrainian nationalist organization Sokil said that they have smashed the bust of Gen. Nikolai Vatutin in the village of Feskovka, Mena district of the Chernihiv region.
"In the early hours of March 27, Chernihiv nationalists from the Sokil organization smashed Russian General Nikolai Vatutin's bust and plaque with hammers. Sokil members put an official internal document with a stamp on the plinth, assuming responsibility for damaging the bust," the Sokil cell said on social networks.
Nationalists demanded that the authorities remove the Vatutin bust from the central part of the village.
The post was illustrated by the photographs of the smashed sculpture.
