Russian specialists come to Venezuela consistent with military-technical cooperation agreement - Foreign Ministry
MOSCOW. March 28 (Interfax) - Russian specialists have come to Venezuela consistent with the bilateral military-technical cooperation agreement, according to Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova.
"Russian specialists have arrived in Venezuela in accordance with the provisions of the bilateral intergovernmental agreement on military-technical cooperation. No one has repealed this document," Zakharova said at a press briefing on Thursday.
The presence of Russian military specialists does not breach either international agreements or Venezuelan law, she said.
Venezuelan military attache in Moscow Jose Rafael Torrealba Perez said earlier that the sole purpose of the arrival of Russian servicemen in Venezuela was to discuss military-technical cooperation and that no joint operations were being considered.
