Poroshenko's presidential campaign staff preparing that some political forces won't recognize first election round returns

KYIV. March 28 (Interfax) - Ukrainian presidential candidate Petro Poroshenko's campaign staff is concerned by the fact that some political forces are preparing certain scenarios of recognizing no results of the first round of the presidential election.

"We cannot help worrying about the fact that some political forces, which are expecting the unfavorable results for them in the first round of the presidential election, are preparing and working on some options of recognizing no election returns, and on some street actions and etc," spokesman of Poroshenko's presidential campaign staff Oleh Medvedev said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Thursday.

Commenting on the latest opinion polls, he said he would like Poroshenko's electoral campaign ratings to be higher, at the same time, stressing his respect for sociologists.

"I certainly cannot say that these figures suit us and that we are happy about them, because we would like our candidate to be on the top, but we respect the sociological science, honor the work of sociologists, and if something is wrong in the sociological findings, we believe that we should primarily judge ourselves and our work, rather than labeling sociology as a corrupt science," Medvedev said.

According to the findings of opinion polls, Volodymyr Zelensky retains his leadership in the presidential race in Ukraine, while Poroshenko and Yulia Tymoshenko are competing for the second position.
