Zelensky projected to beat Poroshenko 61%-24% in 2nd round of presidential election in Ukraine - poll
KYIV. April 11 (Interfax) - Among the Ukrainians who are planning to go to polling stations in the second round of the presidential election on April 21, 61% are going to vote for entertainer Volodymyr Zelensky and 24% for incumbent President Petro Poroshenko, the Sociological Group Rating said on Thursday.
The remaining 15% are still undecided, it said in presenting the findings of its public opinion poll at the Interfax office in Kyiv.
Among all those polled, 51% of Ukrainians said they are likely to vote for Zelensky, 21% for Poroshenko, 18% are undecided, and 10% are not planning to cast their ballots.
Among those who are determined to go to polling stations and have firmly decided for whom to vote, 71% will support Zelensky and 29% Poroshenko, it said.
Zelensky has significantly higher electoral rankings among all age categories of voters and among the residents of the eastern, southern, and central parts of the country, while the two opponents have roughly equal support only in the west of Ukraine.
As many as 61% of those polled believe Zelensky is likely to become the next Ukrainian president, 17% Poroshenko, and 22% are undecided.
Rating polled 3,000 respondents aged 18 and older on April 5-10, 2019.
