Baku insists on withdrawal of Armenian troops from Karabakh in response to Pahinyan's call for renunciation of threats to use force
BAKU. April 11 (Interfax) - In response to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's calling on Baku to withdraw threats to use force, the Azerbaijani side has suggested that Yerevan withdraw troops from the Karabakh conflict area, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesperson Leila Abdullayeva said.
"We suggest that the Armenian prime minister take steps to immediately withdraw the Armenian armed forces from Azerbaijan's territories on the basis of the international community's requirements, in the name of lasting peace, security and prosperity in the region," Abdullayeva told Interfax on Thursday.
Pashinyan said earlier on Thursday that Yerevan called on Baku to renounce militant rhetoric and threats to use force.
