Shoigu: 400 facilities for nuclear triad need to be put into service in 2019

MOSCOW. April 12 (Interfax) - The Russian Defense Ministry has been tasked with putting into service extra 400 facilities for the strategic nuclear forces in 2019, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said at a meeting held on the unified military products commissioning day.

"We are overreaching the plans for many indicators and on the big stock list. As you've heard, we overachieved the plan for infrastructure facilities in the first quarter by 11 times. I hope we can keep this pace up. And what we additionally envisaged for this year, to put into service 400 facilities related to the strategic nuclear deterrence forces in general; this goal will also be achieved," Shoigu said.

"This is an additional task that needs to be achieved," he said.

"It needs to be done because a lot of what is now being supplied to the troops; in particular, to the Strategic Rocket Forces, needs a thorough and well-thought out structure. And I hope that all the plans we've made will, undoubtedly, be fulfilled," Shoigu said.
