NATO, U.S. activities near Belarusian border require strengthening of combat power - Lukashenko
MINSK. April 19 (Interfax) - The defense capability of Belarus should be increased in light of NATO and the United States becoming more active, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said.
"We cannot help but be concerned about the strengthening of the military forces of NATO and the United States in the neighboring countries. It's a reality that requires the strengthening of the combat power of the Belarusian Armed Forces and measures to be taken to ensure our security," Lukashenko said in his annual Address to the people and parliament of Belarus.
The president said the U.S.' intention to withdraw from the INF Treaty could have unpredictable consequences.
