Elysee Palace avoids answering whether Putin invited to D-Day celebrations

MOSCOW/PARIS. April 24 (Interfax) - The Elysee Palace has said it is so far unable to answer the question of whether an invitation to the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of the Normandy landings was sent to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"Organization of the events scheduled for June 6 is underway. I cannot answer your question at this stage," a representative of the Elysee Palace told Interfax on Wednesday.

The Russian president's press secretary Dmitry Peskov said earlier that he does not have information on whether Putin had received an invitation to participate in the events held in France on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Normandy landings.
