Russian Investigative Committee: 41 bodies recovered from burned Superjet-100 plane

MOSCOW. May 6 (Interfax) - The bodies of 41 people killed in the Sukhoi Superject 100 plane crash at Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport have been found, the Russian Investigative Committee said.

"A total of 33 passengers and four crewmembers were evacuated from the plane immediately after the landing. The bodies of 41 people have been recovered from the burned aircraft. DNA testing has been appointed to identify the deceased," the press service for the Investigative Committee said in a statement obtained by Interfax on Monday.

Investigators are currently gathering the passengers' documents and belongings from the scene of the crash, "which will be handed over to the injured and relatives of the deceased following the necessary procedures".

"The landing strip and the plane's fuselage are being additionally examined in a joint effort with experts of the Interstate Aviation Committee," it said.
