Reports of bombs planted at Nizhny Novgorod shopping malls false

NIZHNT NOVGOROD. May 7 (Interfax) - Employees of the emergency situations services have concluded checking Nizhny Novgorod shopping malls, which received reports of bombs allegedly planted there on Tuesday afternoon; nothing was found.

Sixteen facilities, including shopping malls, a department store and an office building, were checked, all of them are located in various districts of Nizhny Novgorod and the town of Bor in the Nizhny Novgorod region, the department for regional security told Interfax.

"Work at all facilities has been concluded at the moment, reports have not been confirmed," it said.

It was reported earlier that several shopping malls began receiving e-mails with bomb threats since noon Moscow time.

The previous wave of bomb threats against schools and hospitals in Nizhny Novgorod occurred less than a month ago, law enforcers checked over 15 facilities in various districts on April 11 and all reports turned out to be false.
