Drunk Stavropol resident wounds 7 people, including 2 children
PYATIGORSK. May 13 (Interfax) - A resident of the Stavropol Territory, who fired on his acquaintances and wounded several people, has been detained, the Russian Investigative Committee said on its website.
"The 32-year-old man was drinking alcohol in the company of his acquaintances in a populated area in the Predgorny district in the evening of May 10 when the suspect and one of his acquaintances had an argument. He took a plain-barrel gun from his house and fired at least ten shots at the man who had offended him and the people who were nearby," the report said.
Seven people, including children born in 2009 and 2015, sustained gunshot wounds, the agency said.
"The suspect could not complete his actions as the people were provided with qualified medical assistance and there is currently no threat to their life," the press release said.
The Russian Investigative Committee said the court has taken the suspect into custody at the investigator's request. He is charged with attempted murder of two or more people committed using a method posing danger to the public.
