SVR Director Naryshkin says meeting with CIA head possible in near future

ST. PETERSBURG. May 15 (Interfax) - Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) and chairman of the Russian Historical Society Sergei Naryshkin has said a meeting with CIA Director Gina Haspel is possible.

"It is possible," Naryshkin said on Wednesday in response to a journalist's question regarding the possibility of such meeting in the near future.

"Unfortunately, these contacts [between SVR and the CIA] - we are still exchanging operative information, especially on issues relating to prevention of international terrorism - somewhat decreased amid the internal political conflict in the United States and the arrival of Haspel," he said.
