LPR resident gets 12 years in jail for treason
LUHANSK. May 16 (Interfax) - The Supreme Court of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) has sentenced a resident of Alchevsk to 12 years in prison for cooperation with Ukrainian nationalist battalions, the press service for the LPR State Security Ministry told Interfax in a statement.
"The Supreme Court of the Luhansk People's Republic has found Vitaly Buyanov, a resident of Alchevsk, guilty of treason and sentenced him to 12 years in prison," the statement said.
The investigators found that Buyanov "had a criminal plot with members of the punitive battalions Donbas and Azov" aimed at harming the sovereignty and territorial integrity, defense capability, and information security of the Luhansk People's Republic," it said.
"He had an order from Ukrainian punishers to collect and pass to the enemy data on the radio frequencies of the LPR People's Militia and military information whose disclosure could have led to the loss of personnel, weapons, and military hardware," the statement said.
