Foreign ministers of Russia, Germany meeting in Helsinki
HELSINKI. May 17 (Interfax) - The foreign ministers of Russia and Germany, Sergei Lavrov and Heiko Maas, are meeting in Helsinki, an Interfax correspondent said in a report.
The ministers greeted each other, and asked the press to leave the conference room.
The meeting is taking place on the sidelines of a session of the Council of Europe (CoE)'s Committee of Ministers.
A representative of the German Foreign Ministry said earlier on Friday that Maas and Lavrov "will discuss bilateral relations and global affairs, including the situation in the Middle East and Ukraine, in addition to Russia's membership in the Council of Europe."
