Zelensky planning competition among candidates for regional governors in Ukraine

KYIV. May 17 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President-elect Volodymyr Zelensky has announced plans to arrange a "transparent competition" among candidates for the post of heads of the country's regional administrations.

"We understand it is quite a challenge to find the best specialists who have high expertise and are committed to achieving concrete results. That's why we want to invite you to cooperation in this field," Zelensky said at a meeting with representatives of international recruitment and HR agencies, according to Zelensky's press service.

There are already some candidates for the post of governors in different regions of Ukraine, he said.

"But here we also need your help with instruments of appropriate assessment of these people, because, on the whole, we want to hold a transparent competition [among candidates] for these jobs," Zelenky said.

"All participants in the meeting supported Volodymyr Zelensky's initiative related to personnel policy and announced their readiness to cooperate with the team of the recently elected president," the press service said.
