Zelensky proposes amending Ukraine's electoral laws

KYIV. May 21 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky plans to ask the Verkhovna Rada to hold a special session to approve amendments to the country's laws on elections, Verkhovna Rada First Deputy Speaker Iryna Herashchenko said.

"According to these consultations, the new president has an initiative to ask the Verkhovna Rada to hold a special session [plenary session] at which such amendments to [electoral] legislation can be adopted. All factions and political groups will determine their position," Herashchenko told reporters near the presidential administration headquarters following consultations with the president.
