TALLINN. May 23 (Interfax) - Undersecretary for Defense Policy at the Estonian Defense Ministry Kadi Silde and U.S. Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs Kathryn Wheelbarger signed a bilateral plan for security cooperation for 2019-2024 in Washington on May 22.

The document will regulate the development of interaction in defense support, cyber defense, military exercises, and other issues, the press service of the Estonian Defense Ministry told Interfax on Thursday.

Among the priorities of this cooperation will be the development of defense investment and assistance for the Baltic states' joint armament procurement.

"Long-term and diverse defense cooperation, which we once again support through our new plan, has been the backbone of firm allied relations between Estonia and the U.S.," Silde said.

The U.S. has already signed similar bilateral cooperation plans with Latvia and Lithuania.
