Four locals killed, 7 injured in militant attacks in Idlib de-escalation zone - center for reconciliation

MOSCOW. May 26 (Interfax) - Ceasefire breaches by militnats continue in the Idlib de-escalation zone, the head of the Russian center for reconciliation of the opposing sides in Syria, Maj. Gen. Viktor Kupchishin, said at a press briefing.

Four local residents have been killed and seven have been injured in the militant attacks, he said.

"Militants from the terrorist organization Hayat Tahrir ash-Sham (banned in Russia) opened fire from the territory of the Idlib de-escalation zone on the populated areas of Ain-el-Krum and Skalbia, northern part of the province Hama, using MRLS in the morning of May 25, 2019. The terrorists launched over 20 reactive shells. At least four civilians were killed and seven were injured in these attacks," Kupchishin said.

"Attacks on the populated areas of Safsafa (3), Mamuhia (2), Nakhshebba (2), al-Areim, Jubb-ez-Zarur, Kinsibba, Bshafra, Latakia province, Mgai (2), Herbet-el-Arus, Skalbia, Ain-el-Krum, Hama province, were registered in the course of the past 24 hours," Kupchishin said on May 25.
