Roscosmos to spend over 259 bln rubles on space launches in 2019-2021

MOSCOW. May 28 (Interfax) - Russia will spend 259.4 billion rubles on space launches in 2019-2021, according to a government resolution drafted by the state corporation Roscosmos.

"The total cost of space launches due in that period will amount to 259.4 billion rubles, including 72.0 billion rubles in 2019, 93.7 billion rubles in 2020, and 93.6 billion rubles in 2021," the draft said.

It indicated that Roscosmos was planning to launch seven Soyuz spaceships, 11 Progress resupply ships, 15 Glonass satellites, the Spektr-RG orbital telescope, a new module of the International Space station, the Luna-Globe lunar spacecraft, and some other vehicles in 2019-2021.

A total of 56 spacecraft will be launched within three years.
