Volodin calls for preparing joint Russian-S.Korean-N.Korean projects before sanctions on Pyongyang lifted
MOSCOW. May 28 (Interfax) - Russian State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin has called for starting expert analysis of trilateral projects to be implemented by Russia, South Korea, and North Korea.
"We need to begin expert analysis of trilateral projects without waiting for the international sanctions on North Korea to be lifted," Volodin said at a meeting of the State Duma and the South Korean National Assembly inter-parliamentary cooperation commission on Tuesday.
He said he was implying above all "integration of Korean railways with the Trans-Siberian Railway and transport of pipeline gas and electricity to the Republic of Korea via the DPRK."
"As far as we know, Pyongyang is prepared for cooperation in this sector," Volodin said.
