Ukrainian MPs from Popular Front invited to Poroshenko party's pre-election congress on June 6
KYIV. May 29 (Interfax) - The European Solidarity party (the renamed Petro Poroshenko Solidarity Bloc party) plans to hold a pre-election congress on June 6, Oleksiy Honcharenko, a deputy leader of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc's parliamentary faction, said on Wednesday.
"I think you'll see some lawmakers from Popular Front to be nominated by our party," Honcharenko said to journalists when asked whether legislators from various political groups have had any negotiations and whether incumbent parliamentary speaker Andriy Parubiy would side with European Solidarity.
"Let's await the congress, and you'll see everything yourself. The congress is scheduled for next Thursday [June 6]," he said.
It had been reported earlier that the Petro Poroshenko Solidarity Bloc party decided at its inaugural assembly on May 24 to change its name to European Solidarity. It emerged the same day that the renamed party would hold its congress on May 31.
