Zelensky appoints Donetsk airport battle participant head of Ukraine's State Guard Department

KYIV. May 29 (Interfax) -Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree relieving Valeriy Heletey of his duties as head of Ukraine's State Guard Department and appointing Ukrainian Armed Forces Lt. Col. Oleksiy Otserklevych to this post.

Otserklevych fought in the Donbas war and served as deputy commander of the 1st mechanized battalion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' 93rd separate motorized brigade during the battles for the Donetsk airport. He subsequently fulfilled the duties of this unit's commander.

Zelensky also relieved Volodymyr Dakhnovsky of the post of first deputy head of the State Guard Department, replacing him by Vyacheslav Shtuchny.

Zelensky also appointed Maksym Donets to the post of deputy head of the State Guard Department and head of the Ukrainian president's Security Service.
