MegaFon, Mail.ru launching platform for automating cargo-transport processes

MOSCOW. May 30 (Interfax) - PJSC MegaFon and the Mail.ru Group are planning to launch a platform for automating cargo owners' transport logistics at the end of Q2, MegaFon said in a statement.

"The solution includes modern digital services of both companies and envisages the possibility of instantaneously comparing the cost of shipping and systemically sharing information with all participants in the transportation process, including electronic signature of transport documents and agreements using an electronic digital or mobile signature, which works even from a standard feature phone, and information on the date of delivery and data for ordering a pass for a warehouse," MegaFon said.

During testing, the platform was integrated with the transport companies DPD and Delovye Linii (Business Lines).

MegaFon hopes there will be demand for the new product among corporate clients.

"This product [...] will help significantly decrease labor costs and increase the efficiency of logistics specialists and organize a fully transparent transportation process," the company said.

Its press service said that the project is called MegaFon Cargo. The amount invested in it has not been disclosed. It is being implemented as part of the partnership between MegaFon and the Mail.ru Group, not through MF Technologies, a joint project of MegaFon, Gazprombank , Rostec, and USM Holdings on the basis of the Mail.ru Group.
