Request on waiving immunity of Russian employee of UN Mission in Kosovo to be referred to UN HQ - mission statement

MOSCOW. May 30 (Interfax) - Any requests on waiving immunity of Mikhail Krasnoshchyokov, a Russian staff member of the United Nations Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), will be referred to the UN Headquarters for consideration, UNMIK said.

"We are aware of media reports of an official request for a waiver of immunity regarding one staff member's arrest. Any requests to waive immunity will be forwarded by UNMIK to United Nations Headquarters," UNMIK told Interfax.

"Such requests will be considered in accordance with established United Nations procedures, consistent with applicable laws and regulations," it said.
