Kosovo problem can be settled only based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 - Volodin

BELGRADE. June 3 (Interfax) - The problem of Kosovo should be resolved only based on United Nations resolutions, including those of the UN Security Council, Russian State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said.

"A solution to the Kosovo problem can definitely only be sought via dialogue based on decisions made in the UN. Primarily, UN Security Council Resolution 1244," Volodin said at the outset of the 4th session of the commission on cooperation between the State Duma and the Serbian National Assembly in Belgrade on Monday.

UN Security Council Resolution 1244, which was adopted in June 1999, determines steps toward settling the Kosovo crisis.
