Acting Astrakhan region Governor Morozov resigns

MOSCOW. June 5 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has accepted acting Astrakhan region Governor Sergei Morozov's voluntary resignation, the Kremlin press service said.

Igor Babushkin has been appointed acting governor in Morozov's stead, it said.

Putin has met with Babushkin at the Kremlin, where he informed him of his decision, it said.

The president had appointed Morozov acting Astrakhan region governor on September 26, 2018. Before this, he had served as deputy chief of the Federal Customs Service.
