Sollers sales in Russia down 32% in May to 2,471 vehicles, all of them UAZ
MOSCOW. June 64 (Interfax) - Russian auto manufacturer Sollers reduced sales of cars and light commercial vehicles (LCV) in Russia 31.9% year-on-year in May 2019 to 2,471 units, the Association of European Businesses (AEB) said in a press release.
All the cars sold in May were UAZ vehicles.
The company did not sell any SsangYong cars in May 2019, having sold four May 2018.
In January-May, Sollers sold 13,654 vehicles in Russia, down 5.7%, of which 13,650 UAZ (down 5.3%) and four SsangYong vehicles, compared with 73 in the same period last year.
Sollers sales in 2018 fell 0.9% to 41,394 units.
Sollers includes Ulyanovsk Automotive Plant (UAZ), which produces UAZ cars and is the key asset of the group, Zavolzhsky Motor Plant . The group also has the Ford Sollers joint venture, a joint venture in the Far East with Mazda to produce the Mazda CX-5, Mazda CX-9 and Mazda 6 and a JV with Isuzu.
