Novatek expects binding agreements with fourth partner in Arctic LNG 2 to be signed in H1

ST. PETERSBURG. June 7 (Interfax) - Novatek expects binding agreements with a fourth Arctic LNG 2 partner to be signed in H1 2019, CEO Leonid Mikhelson told reporters.

On Friday, Novatek signed sales and purchase agreements with China's CNPC and CNOOC for 10% stakes in the project.

Mikhelson said in March, after talks with Saudi Energy Minister Khalid al-Falih, that the Russian gas producer was prepared to consider selling a stake of up to 30% in the Arctic LNG 2 project to Saudi Aramco if it was offered good terms.

However, in April Mikhelson said negotiations were underway with companies from China, Japan, and Saudi Arabia.
