Russian, S. Korean FMs to meet in Moscow on June 17 - S. Korean embassy

MOSCOW. June 11 (Interfax) - The South Korean embassy in Moscow has confirmed plans of South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha to have talks with Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on June 17.

"The embassy confirms plans of the meeting between South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha and Mr. Lavrov, which is due on June 17," the embassy told Interfax in a statement on Tuesday.

The news agency Yonhap said earlier, citing the South Korean Foreign Ministry, that Kang was planning to meet with Lavrov in Moscow next Monday.

The ministers will discuss bilateral relations in view of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations to be observed in 2020, South Korean Foreign Ministry spokesperson Kim In-chul said.

In addition, Kang and Lavrov will confer on cooperating in the resolution of problems of the Korean Peninsula, the region, and the world at large, the statement said.
