Kazakh Majilis approves appointment of minister of trade in integration

NUR-SULTAN. June 17 (Interfax) - The Committee of Economic Reforms and Regional Development of the Majilis, the lower chamber of the Kazakh parliament, approved the appointment of Bakhyt Sultanov as minister of trade and integration on Monday, the press service of the Majilis said in a press release.

Sultanov was nominated as candidate for the new post by Kazakh Prime Minister Askar Mamin.

The Committee made a recommendation to appoint Sultanov following a review of the proposed nomination, the press release said.

Sultanov, 40, earlier worked as mayor of Nur-Sultan, minister of finance, minister of economy and budgeting, head of the Statistics Agency, and deputy head of the Kazakh president's administration.
