Militant strike at Syrian hospital is war crime - Russian Foreign Ministry
MOSCOW. June 17 (Interfax) - Moscow has condemned a strike launched by militants against a hospital in the Syrian town of Meharda.
"We strongly condemn this war crime. We are convinced that those responsible deserve and should receive a just punishment," the Foreign Ministry stated on its website on Monday.
The attack occurred in Meharda in northwestern Syria on the evening of June 6, it said.
It resulted in "serious damage to the building's facade, operating theater, first aid room and hospital section. The WHO [World Health Organization] investigation of the circumstances of the attack continues," the statement said.
