Luhansk, Kyiv again trade truce breach accusations

LUHANSK/KYIV. June 18 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Armed Forces launched three attacks on the territory of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) over the past 24 hours, the LPR representative for the Joint Center for Control and Coordination told Interfax on Tuesday.

"Three attacks mounted by Ukrainian armed units were observed on June 17, 2019," the representative said.

These strikes targeted LPR militia positions near Kalynove and Nyzhne Lozove, using 120mm mortars and grenade launchers, he said.

"Information on civilian injuries and destruction is being verified," the representative said.

Kyiv, in turn, has accused militia forces of launching 34 attacks in the past day, wounding one Ukrainian serviceman.

The press center of Kyiv's Joint Forces Operation said on its Facebook page that the militia had used 120mm and 82mm mortars, which are banned by the Minsk Agreements, on nine occasions.
