Russia's Patrushev discusses security with ASEAN reps
UFA. June 18 (Interfax) - Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev has met with high-ranking representatives responsible for security from countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
"Nikolai Patrushev said during the meeting that the Russian Federation has created a multi-level and far-reaching system of interaction in different areas with ASEAN countries. The sides noted the importance of the information security problem, as well. The Russian Federation and ASEAN countries are currently working on a cyber security memorandum," Russian Security Council spokesman Yevgeny Anoshin said.
The participants in the meeting, which took place on the sidelines of an international conference of high representatives for security issues in the Russian city of Ufa, additionally discussed the fight against terrorism, personnel training programs, and details of their future memorandum of mutual understanding in cooperation in emergency control, Anoshin said.
"The Russian side proposed holding such meetings annually," he said.
