Tatneft mulling green bonds, looking at suitable projects

MOSCOW. June 24 (Interfax) - Tatneft is thinking of issuing green bonds, Vasily Mozgovoi, aide to the oil company's general director for corporate finance, said at the annual investment conference organized by Renaissance Capital.

"At the moment we're looking at what projects we could finance with the help of such instruments," he said.

"So far there's nothing in the pipeline. We need to single out those environmental, social and governance (ESG) projects that we would like to finance, and then we'll look at all the factors. But clearly costs will be an aspect of no little importance, because we have various sources [of funding]. And if green bonds are not suitable we'll look at some alternatives," he said.
