India's Asian Oilfield Services Limited to carry out seismic at Block 12 in Iraq for Rosneft

MOSCOW. June 26 (Interfax) - India's Asian Oilfield Services Limited has won two tenders to carry out 2D and 3D seismic at Block 12 in Iraq, which belongs to Bashneft , a Rosneft subsidiary.

The total value of the tenders is $37 million, the Indian company said in a statement.

Bashneft is planning to drill a second well at the field by the end of the year in order to get more precise data about the site. In 2018, the drilling of the first well, which is over 4,000 meters deep, led to the discovery of the Salman deposit.

Salman is located in a poorly studied area of the Arabian Plate 80 kilometers south of Samawah and 130 kilometers west of Nasiriyah.
