Head of center for reconciliation of opposing sides: 40,000-80,000 refugees ready to leave Idlib de-escalation zone

NEW YORK (UN). June 26 (Interfax) - From 40,000 to 80,000 refugees are ready to leave the de-escalation zone in Idlib, head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Russia Maj. Gen. Alexei Bakin said during a conference call at the session of the UN Security Council.

"According to our information, from 40,000 to 80,000 temporarily displaced persons are now ready to leave the de-escalation zone. The necessary number of places in temporary accommodation centers has been prepared for them on the territory of the provinces Hama, Homs, and Deir ez-Zor," Bakin said.

"The Syrian government is ready to use all available capabilities to provide the necessary conditions for the return of civilians from the Idlib de-escalation zone," he said.
