Rosselkhoznadzor allows deliveries of meat from Belarusian company

MOSCOW. July 8 (Interfax) - The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor) has lifted the ban on imports of products of the Gomel Meat-Packing Plant as of July 6.

"Rosselkhoznadzor announces a partial change to the order of the Agency of March 7, 2019 [...]. As of July 6, 2019, restrictions on deliveries of products of OJSC Gomel Meat-Packing Plant to the Russian Federation are canceled, with the exception of products whose import is prohibited by Rosselkhoznadzor's orders of April 4, 2018 [...], March 22, 2019 [...], March 28, 2019 [...], and April 4, 2019," the statement reads.

The ban on imports of powdered milk from the Belarusian dairy company Novogrudskiye Dary was also lifted as of July 6.

The watchdog said this decision was taken under the roadmap for cooperation between it and the Belarusian Agriculture Ministry's Department of Veterinary and Food Supervision and on the basis of documents submitted by the Belarusian side concerning a study of the reasons that the ban was introduced.

"Goods sent to Russia must have been produced after July 6, 2019 and must be accompanied by electronic veterinary certificates," Rosselkhoznadzor said. The same applies to goods from the Gomel Meat-Packing Plant.
