Russian oil exports fell 0.1% in 5M, LNG soared more than 50% - customs

MOSCOW. July 8 (Interfax) - Russia exported just over 106 million tonnes of oil in January-May 2019, 0.1% less than in the same period last year, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) said.

Natural gas exports fell 4.7% to 93.4 billion cubic meters (bcm). Exports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) jumped more than 50% to 25.3 billion cubic meters.

Fuel and energy accounted for 65.3% of Russian exports, compared with 64.0% a year before, with exports to non-CIS countries accounting for 69.6% (67.8% in 5M 2018) and exports to the CIS for 34.3% (37.4%).

Overall fuel and energy exports fell 0.2% in value and rose 3.1% in natural terms year-on-year.

Fuel and energy accounted for 0.9% of all imports in natural terms, as in January-May last year, including 0.5% of all imports from the non-CIS (compared with 0.5%) and 4.0% of all imports from the CIS (4.5%).
