North Atlantic Council postpones visit to Ukraine from July tentatively to October
KYIV. July 9 (Interfax) - A visit by the North Atlantic Council led by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg to Ukraine, originally planned for July, has been postponed tentatively to the fall, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Ivanna Klympush-Tsyntsadze said.
"The North Atlantic Council was to come on July 9-10. In view of our elections [the early parliamentary elections slated for July 21], they have decided to postpone their arrival to a later date. This is likely to happen in October," Tsyntsadze told journalists in Kyiv on Tuesday.
A final date of the visit has not yet been set, she said.
It had been reported earlier that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had said at a joint press conference with Stoltenberg on June 4 that Ukraine was expecting a North Atlantic Council planned visit to Kyiv.
