Construction of Indiga Port to begin in 2020 - AEON chief
MOSCOW. July 16 (Interfax) - Construction of the ice-free deep-water port of Indiga in the Nenets Autonomous District will begin in 2020, head of AEON Corporation Roman Trotsenko told reporters on the sidelines of the conference dedicated to development of priority transport infrastructure projects.
Sberbank and AEON reached an agreement on financing for the construction of the port at this year's St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
The projected through-put capacity of the port, which should be built via public-private partnership, could be up to 85 million tonnes.
It is planned that the infrastructure of the port will include, among other things, oil and coal terminals, as well as terminals for the transshipping of gas condensate.
There were plans to launch the construction of Indiga Port in 2019, with overall private investment in the project's port infrastructure to total 120 billion rubles, Trotsenko said in April. AEON is hoping to attract partners to the project. Overall, the construction and launch of the port with capacity of 80-120 million tonnes will take ten years, the head of AEON said.
