Not ruled out that Russia may use INSTEX for interaction with Iran - Peskov
MOSCOW. July 18 (Interfax) - It is not ruled out that Russia may use the Instrument in Support of Trade Exchanges (INSTEX) for interaction with Iran after the mechanism has been launched, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"We are following the information coming in about it. If I'm not mistaken, we have already made statements that, taking the first experience of this system's use into account, when it's been launched, we can't rule out relevant interaction," Peskov told reporters on being asked to comment on Russia's attitude to the mechanism.
It is an important initiative, he said.
"It is an important project. It is aimed at protecting the interests of European economic operators amid third countries' illegal attempts to limit their activities," Peskov said.
