Nearly 76% of Ukrainians have negative attitudes toward Poroshenko - poll

KYIV. July 19 (Interfax) - Among all prominent Ukrainian politicians, President Volodymyr Zelensky is liked by the largest number of people, while former President Petro Poroshenko is liked by about only one in ten, according to the results of a public opinion poll the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) conducted on July 5 to 15, 2019.

The poll showed that 99.8% of respondents know Zelensky, 99.6% Poroshenko, 99.2% Batkivshchyna party leader Yulia Tymoshenko, 96.6% Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, 94.8% Radical Party leader Oleh Lyashko, 89.8% Holos party leader and rock musician Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, 89.5% founder of the Opposition Platform - For Life party and parliamentarian Yuriy Boiko, 85.3% Civic Position party leader Anatoliy Hrytsenko, and 83.6% Interior Minister Arsen Avakov.

As many as 78% of respondents know Opposition Platform - For Life party Co-Chairman Vadym Rabinovych, 76.6% Samopomich party leader and Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy, and 73.6% Oleksandr Vilkul, one of the leaders of the Opposition Bloc party and number two on the party's ticket in the early elections to the Rada.

The lowest number of those polled - 29.6% - know presidential representative to the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk.

Asked toward whom the respondents have positive attitudes, 72.8% mentioned Zelensky. Only 10.2% of those polled said they liked Poroshenko.

Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov is liked by only 6.2% and Interior Minister Avakov by 4.8% of respondents.

Asked toward whom they have a negative attitude, 75.8% named Poroshenko, 60.5% Avakov, 59.7% Lyashko, 58.6% leader of Opposition Platform - For Life Viktor Medvedchuk, 57.5% Kharkiv Mayor Hennadiy Kernes, 56.6% Trukhanov, 52.7% Vilkul, and 50.3% Rabinovych.

The KIIS polled 2,000 respondents aged 18 and older in 125 populated areas in all regions of Ukraine.
